Sensory Needs:

There will likely be other students and clients at the school, and there is usually music playing. The genre and volume varies day to day. There are bright fluorescent lights, and the disinfectants we use are necessarily harsh and intense- they leave a strong smell on clothes and hair.

My suggestions: Please bring noise-cancelling headphones, sunglasses, and small comfort items/ handheld gaming consoles to self-soothe if any of the above would be distressing to you. I am also able to do a low/no talking tattoo session upon request (I will still need to check in and ask questions, but we can keep it to the bare minimum).

The smells/chemicals are not ideal, but there is nothing I can do about them until I’m out of school ;-;

Mobility Access:

The tattoo school is located on the 2nd floor of the building, and there is an elevator near the stairs. There are no steps walking in through the front door.

Tattoo Tables:

The massage tables at school have a 450lb weight capacity. There isn’t anything I can do to improve this while in school, but I’ll try to obtain a higher capacity table once I’ve graduated.

Covid19:

Masking is not required at my school, but I will be masking at all times, and ask that you mask too (I have compromising health conditions). The school does have central air, so there is some ventilation, but no air purifiers.
